Don't mention the war.

Postby gabbadan » Sun Jun 27, 2010 7:25 am

Tonight I intend to watch a full Soccer match between the cricket.
England versus Germany. Should be a ripper.

i think you just did

i hope the Germans win, they're playing a nicer style..the English will be unbearable the further they go in this tournament

i'd recommend you watch Argentina v Mexico when it happens too...both teams play the game the way it should be played...you may need to watch replay though

Ok I won't

This World Cup has turned out like WW2! The French surrendered early, the USA arrive last min and we are left to fight the Germans!

They already are! the number of people buying flags for their cars and windows yesterday at the supermarket was crazy!

I am looking forward to the Argentina - Mexico game. It should be a cracker.

Options
-The match starts only at 3.00 your time. You can go a bit early, say "happy birthday" and get back before 3.00 saying you have some imp work.
-You can watch it there, esp if the family friend is also watching (surely they will be watching!)
-You can drop the wife + kids, just say hello/happy birthday and return. You can pick up the family later. You can always say you have some imp work.
- You can watch it on your PDA. Nowadays all that is possible, right?

They've arrange the party in an Bangladeshi (Pseudo-Indian) restaurent. Leaving early now. But not very confident about Capello's men..German beer might still pip the English Beer..The Aussie beer is also looking strong in the ODI..

Could be the day for a combined German, Aussie beer on a gentle, unsuspecting English beer..too bad..

Go young Germany. Yes, England have got more class, but we need to show our renowned fighting spirit.

Even if Germany defeats England, Bild can't beat the silly theatrics of Sun!

To be honest, I'm a bit nervous though.

A 1-0 against England is nothing; however, it's nice to have a lead against them.

Go Germany.

No. It'll be called as a "mechanical", "dour", "effective" goal by the English media. Why? Because it was scored by Germany. Had Spain or Argentina or Brazil scored that goal, it'd be called the best thing since sliced bread.

When is the next flight from Bloemfontien to the Heathrow? :-)

The 1966 sin has been corrected. Two wrongs don't make it right, though.

Germany needs 1 more goal right away.

That's an amazingly disallowed goal. I want the English fans to keep on booing the refrees. Sepp "Chewtiya" Blatter is in the stadium. Let him have an earful..

4-1 btw

What do we expect. I said before the WC who should not have being picked, and I was right.

Gerrard, Lampard, Terry. Over rated, lazy arseholes.

I bet we pick them for the next WC.

And Rooney is little better at the moment.

If the class of '72 passed England to distraction, the class of '10 has beaten them on counters.

Can we beat the classy Argentina and eliminate them from the world cup, as we've always done since 1986?

We now have the week of how unfair is was and how we would have won it but for.....

Football fans cant see what is in front of their face.

Take Gerrard. Poor all season; never (ever) performed for England; yet Liverpool fans continue to say he should play for England when he clearly is not good enough. He is the Hick of the football world.....

Wow, 4-1. They really are worse that us.

Watched the goals (ESPN Soccernet Gamecast for the win) and England just don't seem to be able to defend. Good passing from Germany I suppose.

Not knowing a lot about world soccer (other than Brazil is really good) it comes as a surprise that England aren't better. I always here that the EPL is the best soccer in the world, I guess a lot of the players aren't Englishmen, huh? Or are the German, Spanish, or Italian leagues better than EPL?

 the 1966 was no way over the line..has to be whole ball...it was barely half

in any case, the Germans were by far the better team out there this time and could've won by more.

This English team was not worth the KO round. It should've been kicked out had it been any other group.

I quite agree Roy we are a very poor team this time.

On 66 the ball was all over the line as has being proven by modern technology. Not that it matters.
