I'd have normally supported the Samba boys. This time I'll cheer for the Dutch, for I want an easier final for us, Germans. Let's relive the 1974 spirit!

PS: Raja, I hope you're happy about this.

It would not be world cup if brazil, Germany (have to say with a sickening feeling), argentina (yaa baby) do not make it to the semis. I do not care who the 4th one is.

I think the Germans will get royally screwed by Maradona's team. Robinho puts Brazil in front!

Brazil easily the better team atm - by miles.
They are much quicker in the field than the Dutch.
And much hungrier too.
It was crazy that when the Dutch had to throw in, there was no Dutch player who seemed to want to receive the ball!

Holland very lucky to be down by just 1 goal.
And the way it is going, it looks unlikely that Holland will come back.
Brazilian defence looks really good - they've got Robben very well covered, there seem to be Brazilians all over the place.

I'd like to see Van Persie replaced. Who could they bring in?

The Brazilian defense is impressive. They easily shut off Robben, whenever he had the ball.

They could bring in Huntelaar.
I think they will.
Van Persie has not had a good tournament.

The fact that the Brazilians didn't convert their first-half dominance into goals could come back to haunt them.

Strictly speaking, I am neutral in this game.
But.. But.. But.
It would be a shame if Arg and Bra do not face off atleast once in this world cup. It is one face off which I wait for always.

On a serious note, they haven't faced each other for 20 years. Why can't you wait for another 4 years? :-)

Deserved red card for Brazil. They should have been down to 9 men, if the referee was not overawed by Brazilian aura earlier.

You were spot on about this at the half time. Perhaps they should have done it a few minutes ago.

Uruguay are good; however, this Dutch side should win that game.

Are the Dutch through to the finals?

If the uncouth Argentinians are eliminated tomorrow, we'll have some civil football played by decent people.

Can Paraguay knock out Spain? It'll pave the way for an easy semi-final for Germany, if they overcome the might of Argentina.

This Dutch side looks a bit like the German sides of the past - efficient, doing enough just to win the game etc.

Raja - Will the Dutch public adore this team, even if they win the world cup?

The Dutch commentators are really going crazy.
They were interviewing Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk.

They say "So we've beaten Brazil. Surely we are in the finals now?"
That is really bad!!! Never underestimate your opponent.
This Dutch team can lose to any team. Uruguay/Ghana are not bad at all.

van Marwijk, ever level-headed, just said "We are just taking it one game at a time".

By the way congratz dutch. They were completely outplayed in the first half so to come back from 1 nil down is a pretty awesome effort. Still don't get how Robben didn't even get a yellow card though... Guess his fake dives were very, very convincing.
