French Open 2015

Postby raja » Sat Jun 06, 2015 2:45 pm

Wawrinka bt Tsonga in 4 sets to reach the final.
He will play Djokovic who beat Andy Murray in a 5-setter in the other semi-final.

I don't follow tennis nowadays - the only time I follow it is if a Brit is in the qf/sf/final.
That's when I start getting a bit nervous. :-)

This is a joke of a grand slam. What kind of a semifinal gets suspended for a night? If it was a five setter in one day, Djokovic would have been trashed despite going for 20 medical timeouts.

Want Wawrinka to win now.

Tennis needs some young blokes to come through, Nadal has now joined Federer on the decline so its Novak uncontested at the moment, hasnt been a new star of ages

Same with the womens draw S Williams is that past it but due to the state of womens tennis atm she keeps winning

There are some Aussie young blokes coming through, Kokkinakis, Tomic and Kygrios.

Well done Serena...

Wawrinka, Nishikori and Dimitrov are very promising as well.

Agreed, Roger Rasheed (Tsonga's previous coach) is coaching Dimitrov.

Serena is not a WOMAN so I refuse to take her wins on face value.

She will become a HE/IT after she retires.. like that bruse jennings feller who became a SHE/IT from a HE.

This was the most high quality match of the tournament. Well deserved win for Wawrinka.

Nadal and Federer are past their prime but Djokovic is still doing very well. He was simply outplayed today by Wawrinka. If he played like this against Nadal in his prime on clay, he would still put up a decent fight. He probably won't last more than 2 years but until then I think he will stay in the top 5 rankings.
