Shahriar Nafees, Abdur Razzak to join BCB

February 13 2021

Shahriar and Razzak will take up roles in the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Former national captain Shahriar Nafees and veteran left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak have announced their retirement from all forms of cricket to join administrative roles in Bangladesh Cricket Board. Razzak has already been announced as the third member of the national selection panel while Nafees will act as the deputy manager of BCB's cricket operation.
Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh organized a farewell for the duo at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday. Razzak, who represented Bangladesh in 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20Is, thanked his coaches for showing faith him way. "It is only natural that someone else will take my place because everything comes to an end. I would like to thank my childhood coaches Sarwar Imran and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim. I met them when I was 13 years old, and they changed my life," Razzak said. "I am still in some kind of trans considering even yesterday I could say that I am a cricketer but from today it will be a different story."
Razzak is the only cricketer to take over 600 wickets in country's first-class cricket and also led Khulna Division and South Zone in the National Cricket League and Bangladesh Cricket League. He also dominated in domestic cricket as he was the highest wicket-taker in the last season in both National Cricket League and Bangladesh Cricket League.
Nafees, the first-ever T20I skipper for Tigers, played 24 Tests, 75 ODIs and one T20I during his international career.
