Re: Rohit sharma as test opener

To be fair to Rohit, on Indian wickets, he is quite a bully. Rahul has been given a fair number of chances, and though I like the guy (and this will destroy his already fragile confidence), I can see why he might lose his place. There's a lot of competition for places right now. And that's a good th...

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

Another thing. I generally avoid talking about socialism, capitalism etc cos I'm not sure I am competent enough to do so. But let me try, with my limited understanding. :-) - if I own a property, I should have the rights to decide what I do with it. That's capitalism. The ICC owns the World Cup, BCC...

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

For those wanting BCCI to get a bigger share of cricket's pie, cos an overwhelming large number of viewers is Indian, it is, at the core of it all, a nationalistic argument. The assumption being made here is, if an Indian supporter watches an Aus-NZ cricket match, BCCI should collect in some way. I ...

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

The situation has changed since ICL days. ICL was pre-IPL. BCCI, though very rich and pretty powerful even then, wasn't as obscenely rich and powerful as today. The only person who would possibly consider launching something on his own, and taking on the BCCI, is probably Lalit Modi. He's that type ...

Exciting player.

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

I don't know about the political affiliations in Australia, but are the CA bosses (and state level cricket association bosses) politicians, or close to political parties? In India, the BCCI is just the body in whose name cricket is run. Actually it is run by politicians because there's a lot of mone...

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

I think it's a pity that BCCI is scared to play Pakistan.
Would be great to see these two going head-to-head.
We saw what happened in the last Champions Trophy when Mohammad Aamer ripped apart the much-fancied top-order BCCI line-up.

Since then, they're avoiding playing Pakistan as much as possible.

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

If there are 2 choices
- an ICC-organised tournament without BCCI
- a BCCI-organised tournament without ICC members (or international players)

which would attract more eyeballs?

Re: Ideas to improve cricket

BCCI is basically a bully.
Epitomising the country it represents, it lacks grace, class, civilised conduct and ethics.
